New day, new controversy. Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent 2, which returned after a year and a half, has once again landed in controversy. Avid watchers of IGL were already unhappy with the safe one-liners and jokes in the new season. And despite Samay and his team of lawyers taking precautions to avoid legal trouble, the show has found itself in fresh trouble. Yes, you heard that right. It so happened that a complaint was reportedly filed against casting director Mukesh Chhabra and Netflix India over allegedly inappropriate language used during a recent episode.
Complaint filed against Mukesh Chhabra and Netflix India
According to reports, the complaint was filed by Anurag Shrivastav, who said he came across the episode while watching Netflix from a hotel room in Mumbai on the evening of September 22.
The complaint alleges that Mukesh Chhabra was heard making an objectionable and sexually suggestive remark during the episode. However, the complaint itself calls for verification of the authenticity of the statement, the identity of the speaker, the complete context and the exact timestamp from the original, unedited recording.
Shrivastav has also questioned Netflix India’s role in approving and streaming the episode. The complaint seeks an inquiry into how the alleged content was cleared and has reportedly sought scrutiny of the role of Monika Shergill, Netflix India’s content chief.
Ajaz Khan slams Samay Raina after contestant's claim
And that’s not all. Former Bigg Boss contestant Ajaz Khan has also criticised comedian Samay Raina after meeting a contestant who claimed that his performance on India’s Got Latent was not featured in any episode.
Ajaz shared a video on Instagram on September 24 featuring Prayagraj-based contestant Rajesh Mishra, who alleged that he performed on Samay Raina’s show for nearly 40 minutes.
In the video, contestant Mishra claimed that although he received prize money after appearing on the show, he was not announced as the winner. Ajaz and Mishra also alleged that contestants who win India’s Got Latent are supposed to receive ₹1 lakh, but may receive around ₹35,000 instead.
They further claimed that when there is more than one winner, the prize money is divided among the contestants. These claims have not been independently verified.

Ajaz accused Samay Raina of being unfair to contestants and questioned how emerging performers are treated on the show.
Ajaz also alleged that India’s Got Latent is scripted and “fixed”, while claiming that original talent is not being given enough exposure. He further questioned the show’s prize-money practices and told Samay to face the contestant’s allegations.
The show previously faced major scrutiny in February 2025 after remarks made by content creator Ranveer Allahbadia during an episode of Season 1 triggered widespread backlash and legal proceedings.
Season 2 premiered on September 18 on Netflix and YouTube. The episode in question featured Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bhuvan Bam, Mukesh Chhabra, stand-up comedian Kaustubh Agarwal and host Samay Raina.
