The day of 25th September is very important for India in the Asian Games 2026. Today, Indian players will challenge for medals in many sports. In Kabaddi, women's and men's teams will enter the semi-finals, while in shooting, medals will be at stake in 10 meter air pistol mixed team and men's 50 meter rifle 3 positions. In athletics, Gulveer Singh will enter the 10,000 meters final.
Kabaddi semi-finals, both Indian teams in action
Indian women's Kabaddi team will play the semi-finals against Nepal at 9:30 am. After this the men's team will face Thailand at 10:45 am. Both the Indian teams are the defending champions and will be defending their title.
Two big medal matches in shooting
In shooting, Kamaljeet and Suruchi Singh will enter the 10 meter air pistol mixed team qualification at 6:15 am. If they qualify, the final will be held at 8:30 am.
Whereas Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar, Rudranksh Patil and Neeraj Kumar will challenge in the individual qualification and team event in men's 50 meter rifle 3 positions. The team finals are at 7:15 am and the tentative time for the individual finals is at 10:30 am.
Eyes will be on Gulveer Singh
In athletics, Gulveer Singh will enter the men's 10,000 meters final at 5:02 pm. He won a bronze medal in this event at Hangzhou 2023 and is also a gold medalist in this distance at the Asian Championships.
Apart from this, Gurinderveer Singh and Animesh Kujur will contest in the men's 100 meter semi-finals. Both semi-final heats are at 4:11 and 4:19 respectively. If they qualify, the 100m final will be held at 6:50 pm.
Satvik-Chirag's debut in badminton
In badminton, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will face Thailand's Pakkapon Tiraratsukul and Peerachai Sukfun in the round of 32 of men's doubles. The match is from 12:30 pm.
All-Indian Quarterfinals in Squash
In squash, the quarterfinal of women's singles will be played between Anahat Singh and Tanvi Khanna at 10 am. The medal of the winner of this match will be confirmed. In men's singles, Abhay Singh and Veer Chotrani will also enter the quarterfinals.
Competition with Japan in hockey
The Indian women's hockey team will face Japan in the Pool B match at 7:30 am. With victory, the Indian team can secure its place in the semi-finals.
Hope of medal in table tennis and weightlifting also
In table tennis, mixed doubles pairs of Manush Shah-Diya Chitale and Harmeet Desai-Yashswini Ghorpade will play the quarterfinals. Both the matches are at 6:30 am. If they win the quarterfinals, both the pairs will reach the semi-finals.
In weightlifting, Nirupama Devi will challenge in the women's 61 kg final at 1:30 pm.
