Liverpool midfielder Florian Wirtz and Eintracht Frankfurt forward Jonathan Burkardt have joined the Germany squad earlier than planned after Arsenal’s Kai Havertz and Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala were forced to withdraw with injuries.

Jamal Musiala and Kai Havertz will leave the Germany squad early after both picking up injuries in Amsterdam on Thursday, the German Football Association confirmed on Friday.
Musiala suffered a muscle fibre tear in his right thigh during the warm-up, while Havertz was forced off with a muscle strain in the first half of Germany’s 1-1 draw with the Netherlands.
Jonathan Burkardt and Florian Wirtz were both initially named in Germany coach Jürgen Klopp’s second squad for the third and fourth UEFA Nations League games during the international break, but will now link up with the squad earlier than planned.
Both players will therefore be available to Klopp for Sunday’s UEFA Nations League game against Greece in Augsburg.
