Automobile Desk – Nissan Pixo EV Launch: Keeping the European market in mind, Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan has unveiled its new A-segment electric car Nissan Pixo. Designed keeping in mind urban traffic and everyday needs, this EV is the result of a joint effort between Nissan Design Europe and Renault. The company is producing this new car at the Renault plant in Novo Mesto, Slovenia.
Unique cubic design and modern styling
Nissan Pixo EV has been designed on the company's new electric design language. Its front profile gives a robotic look, with pixel style modern lighting and a bold front bumper. The shape of the car is cube-like which gives it a distinct identity. Pixel-inspired details are also seen on its 18-inch alloy wheels. A large and clear brand logo of Nissan has been given at the rear of the car.
Talking about dimensions, the total length of Nissan Pixo is 3,796 mm, width is 1,790 mm and wheelbase is 2,492 mm. It has been given a ground clearance of 140 mm for Indian and European roads. The company is making it available in unique colors like Wonder Purple and Gear Blue.
Luxurious cabin, boot space and modern technology
The cabin of the car is designed quite comfortably for 4 adults. It has been provided with rear sliding seats, which can be moved forward and backward as per need to increase the boot space. It generally gets 356 liters of boot space, which includes a separate space of 50 liters for the charging cable. If the rear seats are folded, this capacity increases to 1,221 litres.
If we look at the dashboard, it has a 7-inch digital driver display and a large 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The gear selector is placed just behind the steering wheel, while physical buttons for climate control, AC and heater continue to be used. It has the facility of Google Gemini voice assistant with Google built-in system, which supports 16 languages. Users can control charging, navigation and other features of the car through the MyNissan app.
Safety and Driver Assistance
In terms of safety, Nissan has given many big features in this small EV. This includes adaptive cruise control with stop and go function, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, automated emergency braking, hands-free parking and one-pedal driving technology.
Battery, power and charging speed
Nissan Pixo has a LFP battery pack of 27.5 kWh capacity. This battery is connected to a single electric motor of 60 kW, which gives a maximum power of about 82 hp. Once fully charged, this car can cover a distance of approximately 259 kilometers.
To reduce the charging time, it has been supported with 50 kW DC fast charging, with the help of which this car gets charged from 15 to 80 percent in just 28 minutes. Apart from this, it is also provided with 11 kW bi-directional AC charging, so that it can be easily charged at home or office.
