New Delhi. Congress has opened a front across the country demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. According to the information received so far, Congress workers have demonstrated in many states of the country including Delhi, UP, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh and Bihar.

Congress workers demonstrated across the country
A march was taken out on foot till the Election Commission office in Delhi. Protesting workers in Patna surrounded the Election Commission office, later water cannon was used by the police. In Dehradun, protesters climbed the barricades, while in Assam, Akhil Gogoi, who was involved in the protest, was taken into police custody. On the other hand, Congress Himachal workers appointed Kalik granddaughter on the board of Shimla Election Commission office. Foot marches were taken out in Kolkata and Chhattisgarh. Whereas in Chandigarh, police used water cannon on the protesters. Apart from this, Congress workers demonstrated strongly in different parts of the country demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commission Gyanesh Kumar.
CJP also preparing to protest
After accepting the resignation of former Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, now Cockroach Janata Party i.e. CJP had said on Thursday that Gyanesh Kumar should resign within 48 hours, otherwise there will be agitation. Now on Friday, CJP has announced that if Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar does not resign, then a nationwide agitation will be organized from October 2.

what did congress say
The Congress has alleged that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar is taking decisions within the commission unilaterally and objections from other election commissioners are being ignored. The party's allegation comes after an Indian Express report claimed that in the last 10 months, Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi disagreed on the commission's decisions at least 14 times. According to the report, these objections were related to issues like changes in Form-6 during SIR, process of adding and deleting names in the voter list and centralized control of voter data. Regarding this, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has also demanded the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner.
