Indian Railways has given an important gift to the daily commuters, businessmen and devotees traveling between Bundelkhand and Braj region. Official approval has been given to extend the operation of the popular train number 11901/11902 Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi – Agra Cantt Express, operated under North Central Railway, up to Mathura Junction. After this extension, now instead of ending its journey at Agra Cantt, this train will go directly to Kanha city Mathura. With the increase in the travel route, the total journey of the train will increase from 217 kilometers to 270 kilometers. With this extension, passengers from Jhansi, Gwalior, Dholpur and Agra will get an additional and convenient direct train service to and from Mathura-Vrindavan. These 4 new stoppages have been added on the extended route. Keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers on the new 53 kilometer railway route extended between Agra Cantt to Mathura Junction, Railways has provided commercial stoppages at 4 important stations: Raja Ki Mandi: Located in the heart of Agra city, this station is very important for local businessmen, college students and daily commuters. Runkuta: People of this industrial and rural area located between Agra and Mathura will now get direct long distance connectivity. Deen Dayal Dham (Deen Dayal Dham / Farah): Famous as the birthplace of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, getting a halt at this station will be a big relief to the local residents and visitors. Baad: Located near Mathura Refinery and Industrial Area, the stoppage at this station will ease the movement of employees and daily commuters. What will be the new time-table and schedule of the train? As per the revised time table released by the Railways, the train operations in both the directions are scheduled as follows: Train No. 11901 (Jhansi to Mathura): This train will depart from Veerangana Lakshmibai Jhansi station at 16:00 PM (4:00 PM) daily and will reach Mathura Junction at 23:00 PM (11:00 PM) via its scheduled route. Train No. 11902 (Mathura to Jhansi): In the return direction, this train will depart from Mathura Junction daily at 05:05 am and will reach Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi at 12:50 pm. Passengers, businessmen and devotees will get direct benefits. Extension of this train to Mathura will give a big boost to religious tourism. Devotees going from Bundelkhand (Jhansi, Datia) and Chambal region of Madhya Pradesh (Gwalior, Morena) to visit the temples of Mathura, Vrindavan, Govardhan and Barsana will no longer need to change trains in Agra or take bus. With this, traders associated with textile and shoe business in Raja Ki Mandi and surrounding areas will directly save time in transportation and transportation of goods. Starting from Mathura in the morning and reaching Jhansi in the afternoon, this train will prove to be very convenient for daily office goers and also for patients going to Agra for medical emergencies.
