Nissan Pixo EV Revealed: New Electric City Car Gets 82hp Motor and 50kW Fast Charging
Nissan has unveiled the new Pixo EV for the European market, entering the growing A-segment electric vehicle category with a compact design, practical cabin and a focus on urban driving. The new electric hatchback has been developed around the needs of city users and is the result of collaboration between Nissan Design Europe and Renault.
The Pixo is being assembled at Renault’s manufacturing facility in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. Nissan says the model follows its latest electric-vehicle design philosophy, combining a compact cubic shape with distinctive pixel-inspired styling.
Futuristic Exterior Design
The Nissan Pixo features a boxy silhouette designed to maximize interior space while maintaining compact dimensions. Its front end gets a distinctive robot-inspired appearance, complemented by pixel-style lighting elements.
The same pixel-inspired theme continues with the 18-inch wheels, while the rear prominently carries Nissan branding. The electric hatchback will be offered in colors including Wonder Purple and Gear Blue.
The Pixo measures 3,796mm in length, 1,790mm in width and 2,492mm in wheelbase, with 140mm of ground clearance.
Spacious Interior for a Compact EV
Despite its small exterior footprint, the Pixo is designed to accommodate four adults. The rear seats can slide forward and backward, allowing owners to adjust the balance between passenger comfort and cargo capacity.
The boot offers 356 litres of luggage space, which can increase to 1,221 litres when the rear seats are folded.
Inside, the dashboard combines a 7-inch digital driver display with a larger 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Nissan has retained physical controls for functions such as the air-conditioning and heater.
The gear selector is positioned behind the steering wheel, helping free up space around the center console.
The Pixo also features Google built-in, including the Google Gemini voice assistant, with support for 16 languages. Owners can use the MyNissan app for functions including charging management, navigation and selected vehicle controls.
82hp Electric Motor and LFP Battery
Power comes from a 27.5kWh LFP battery pack connected to a single electric motor. The motor produces 60kW, equivalent to around 82hp.
Nissan has not yet announced the vehicle’s official torque figure or acceleration time.
For charging, the Pixo comes with 50kW DC fast charging as standard. Nissan says the battery can be charged from 15% to 80% in approximately 28 minutes under suitable charging conditions.
The car also supports 11kW bidirectional AC charging, giving owners additional flexibility for home or workplace charging and potential energy-management applications.
Safety and Driver Assistance Features
The Nissan Pixo comes equipped with several modern driver-assistance technologies. These include Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping System and Automated Emergency Braking.
The electric city car also offers Hands-Free Parking and One Pedal Technology, adding convenience for urban driving.
