The Election Commission has taken a special initiative for the youth who are going to become voters for the first time amid the process of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Delhi. Special enrollment camps will be organized by Delhi Election Commission in colleges, universities and other educational institutions on 29th and 30th September. The objective of these camps is to provide an opportunity to such youth who have attained the age of voting but have not yet registered their names in the voter list of Delhi, to register as voters.
Opportunity for youth between 18 to 25 years
If your age is between 18 to 25 years and you have not yet been registered as a voter in Delhi, then registration can be done through these special camps. By organizing camps in educational institutions, students will get an opportunity to complete the process of voter registration in their own institutions. The voter list is being updated during the process of SIR. In such a situation, registration of youth becoming voters for the first time is also important, so that the names of eligible citizens can be included in the voter list.
Booth level officers will be present in the camp
According to the statement of the Election Commission, Booth Level Officers (BLO) will be present in these special camps. Form-6 will be available with them for registration of new voters along with the voter list. BLOs will help young voters in filling the forms and application process during the camp.
