Great news for SBI customers! Not a single rupee will be charged for withdrawing money from ATM during bank strike

New Delhi. If you are also worried about cash shortage due to bank strike, then a very relieving news has come out for the customers of State Bank of India (SBI). During the three-day bank strike from 28th to 30th September, SBI has taken a big and wonderful decision regarding all the additional charges for withdrawing money from ATMs. The bank has officially announced to completely waive all charges for withdrawing cash from ATM for these three days.

No charges will be levied on ATM usage for three days

According to the announcement of SBI, during these three days of 28, 29 and 30 September, no extra charge will be levied on customers for withdrawing cash from ATMs of any bank across the country. This means that SBI customers will be able to withdraw money from the ATM as per their need in these three days without any worry and there is no need to worry about any additional charges.

This major decision has come at a time when normal banking operations may come to a complete halt or be affected due to strikes in bank branches across the country. In such a situation, there is full hope that the general public and account holders will get relief to a great extent due to the continuous availability of money through ATMs.

Relaxation in cash withdrawal limit from debit card

SBI customers are going to get another big relief during these three days. The bank has made it clear that the normal upper limit will not be applicable while withdrawing cash from ATM through debit card. This simply means that between 28th and 30th September, customers will be able to withdraw sufficient cash from the ATM as per their need and choice. However, let us tell you that this special facility will be valid only for this declared time limit of three days.

What are the general rules for using ATMs of SBI and other banks?

If we talk about normal days, separate rules have been set for withdrawing money from SBI ATM. As per the current rules of the bank, you can use SBI ATM five times in a month absolutely free. Whereas, if it is a matter of withdrawing cash from ATMs of other banks, then generally there is a limit of only three free transactions in a month. For using ATM more than the prescribed limit, a fixed charge is levied by the banks.

But during these three days of bank strike i.e. from 28th to 30th September, SBI has taken a historic decision to completely waive this additional fee. That is, during this period, even if customers use the ATM more than their prescribed free limit, no additional ATM charge will be deducted from them. This facility will be applicable to any bank's ATM in any corner of the country.

Bank branches will remain affected, but digital services will remain operational

Even though work will be halted in the physical branches of banks during this three-day long bank strike, essential banking services through digital mediums will remain fully operational. According to the information received, important services like NEFT, RTGS and IMPS will continue to work without any interruption even during the strike. This means that customers will be able to freely avail the facilities like transferring money through these digital platforms while sitting at home.
