The rains have turned their backs on the state. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has declared drought. The situation in the state is very bad. Crops have been ruined due to lack of rain. Now, rain has wreaked havoc in Uttar Pradesh.
The retreating monsoon has taken a violent turn in Uttar Pradesh with heavy rains in the last 48 hours throwing normal life out of gear. 15 people have lost their lives in different accidents due to rain. 5 people have been seriously injured, while 117 kutcha houses have collapsed. Rainfall several times more than the average has been recorded in 63 districts of the state. Waterlogging situation has arisen in many districts of Kanpur, Farrukhabad and Purvanchal including the capital Lucknow and roads and agriculture have been submerged. The Meteorological Department has also issued red and orange alerts for many districts on September 27.
Heavy rains in Uttar Pradesh have claimed 15 lives and damaged 117 houses in 48 hours. Maximum 4 people have died in Lakhimpur Kheri, while one person each has died in other districts including Ayodhya, Amethi, Bahraich and Kanpur. More than average rainfall has been recorded in 63 districts of Uttar Pradesh, in which Kanpur and Farrukhabad have broken all records.
Crops in the fields have been damaged due to rain and low-lying areas and highways including the capital Lucknow have been submerged in water. The Meteorological Department has issued red alert for 8 districts and orange alert for 13 districts, in which the intensity of rain is expected to continue. Rain has caused havoc in Uttar Pradesh. People's lives have become disrupted due to this rain.
After drought was declared in 14 talukas of Amravati district, the District Collector has ordered Panchnama. A three level committee will conduct Panchnama in Amravati district. This committee, which includes Talathi, Agricultural Assistant and Gram Sevak, is conducting Panchnama at the village level. In this, the loss caused in five plots of every village will be measured, average will be calculated and the extent of loss will be decided.
