In Rajasthan, BJP has captured three big municipal corporations. BJP mayors have won in all three municipal corporations. BJP had a clear majority in Jaipur and Kota. But there was a tough fight in Jodhpur, here BJP won. Jodhpur has been the stronghold of former CM Ashok Gehlot. But here too Congress got nothing. In the results, there was a difference of only one councilor between BJP and Congress. Sunil Kothari has been elected mayor in Jaipur, Anusuiya Gauswami in Kota and BJP's Prasanna Mehta has been elected mayor in Jodhpur. In such a situation, now 9 out of 10 municipal corporations of Rajasthan will have mayors from BJP in the city government. Congress has become mayor only in Bikaner.
Big victory for BJP in Jodhpur
The competition was the toughest in Jodhpur. In the results of 100 wards, BJP has won 45 wards and Congress has won 44 wards. There were 10 independents and 1 councilor. But among the three, Prasanna Mehta got 53 votes and the Congress candidate got only 47 votes. Jodhpur, an important city of Marwar, is the stronghold of former CM Ashok Gehlot, but here too Congress had to face defeat. Both the parties had barricaded their councilors and independents, but BJP has won.
Sunil Kothari became mayor from Jaipur.
BJP has also got a big victory in Jaipur Municipal Corporation. Sunil Kothari was elected mayor from here. BJP got 89 votes. NOTA got 1 vote and Congress got 60 votes. After becoming mayor, Sunil Kothari said that he will take Jaipur forward on the basis of cleanliness and development, the aim will be to preserve the heritage of the park. The victory of Jaipur is considered important for BJP.
BJP's Anusuiya Goswami becomes mayor of Kota
Bharatiya Janata Party registered a big victory in the mayor election of Kota Municipal Corporation. BJP's ward 98 councilor Anusuiya Goswami was elected mayor. He got 65 votes in the voting. Whereas Congress candidate Sunita Suman got 35 votes. Anusuiya Goswami has won by a margin of 30 votes. There are total 100 councilors in Kota Municipal Corporation. Before the elections, there were 57 BJP councillors, 39 Congress and 4 independent councillors. Of these, two independent councilors had already supported BJP. In such a situation, 59 councilors got support in favor of BJP. Even after this, BJP candidate Anusuiya Goswami got 65 votes. Congress had 39 councilors in the mayor elections, but its candidate Sunita Suman got 35 votes. There was a difference of 4 votes between the number of Congress councilors and the votes received by the candidate. After the results, there is talk of cross voting in the Congress camp.
