Amidst the preparations for Simhastha-2028 in Ujjain, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav offered prayers outside his ancestral house and himself removed a part of the house using a pickaxe. He said that it is difficult to leave a house associated with emotions for development, but it is necessary to do so in public interest.
Tezzbuzz Desk– Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reached his ancestral home in Ujjain on 27 September. Here he performed puja outside the house and after this he himself took part in the process of removing a part of the house using a pickaxe. Amidst the ongoing development works for Simhastha Mahakumbh-2028, his ancestral house has also become a part of the process of urban development.
The Chief Minister said that there is naturally a deep emotional connection with the house where a person is born, where he spends his childhood and plays. Removing any part of such a house is an emotional moment. However, this sacrifice is necessary if it is needed for the preparations for Simhastha and the development of the city.
Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the people of Ujjain are contributing to the development of the city. Many people are moving back their houses to make space for roads and other facilities. He described it as an example of participation of the people of the city towards development.
According to the Chief Minister, the population of Ujjain is around 8 lakh, while around 40 crore devotees are expected to arrive during Simhastha. In view of the arrival of such a large number of people, it is necessary to develop the city's roads, traffic and other infrastructure facilities as per the future needs.
He said that people from different communities in Ujjain have also cooperated for development works. According to him, people of Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian and Parsi communities have even retreated from their places of worship. The Chief Minister described it as an example of trust and cooperation between the government and the public.
Referring to his public life, Dr. Yadav said that when he won the elections from Science College for the first time and then contested the elections for Joint Secretary and President, he was thinking that keeping in mind the times to come, he should set an example through his conduct and actions. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that it is important to rise above personal interests and give priority to issues related to rules, law and good governance.
The Chief Minister's ancestral house is also included in the limit of ongoing development projects in Ujjain for Simhastha-2028. His family's property is also part of the same administrative process under which action is being taken on other affected buildings due to the road widening process. By wielding a pickaxe at his own house, the Chief Minister also highlighted the issue of private property being affected for the development project.
Although it was emotional to leave this house associated with decades of memories, the Chief Minister called it a part of the urban transformation necessary for Simhastha. Many development works are being done in old Ujjain to prepare the roads, traffic and infrastructure as per the future needs.
In the same sequence, the process of widening the approximately 730 meter long road by 15 meters from Ujjain's Khajoorwali Mosque to Ganesh Chowk via Abdalpura, Jiwajiganj police station has been started. About Rs 9.80 crore will be spent by the state government for road widening and development work.
In view of the possibility of increase in the number of devotees and vehicles during Simhastha Mahaparva, the purpose of widening of this road is to make the traffic system smooth and orderly. These changes being made in the city are being taken forward keeping in mind the increasing crowd and traffic needs during Simhastha-2028.
