HONOR has officially launched the HONOR X9e Pro 5G in Malaysia, introducing what the company describes as its first “Pro” model under the X Series. HONOR has built the X9e Pro around three prominent characteristics: a very large battery, enhanced physical durability, and a high-brightness display.
The headline specification is its 11,000mAh battery, which is considerably larger than the 8,300mAh battery found in the previous-generation HONOR X9d. The phone also combines that capacity with 80W wired charging and 27W reverse wired charging, giving the large battery a secondary role as a power source for compatible devices. The 11,000mAh Battery Is the Main Hardware Story
The X9e Pro’s biggest differentiator is its 11,000mAh battery typical battery capacity, with HONOR listing a rated capacity of 10,510mAh. That makes the battery substantially larger than the 8,300mAh unit used by the HONOR X9d. A larger battery does not automatically translate into a fixed number of days of real-world use. It also supports 27W reverse wired charging, allowing the phone to supply power to compatible devices.
6.8-Inch 120Hz AMOLED Display Targets Outdoor Visibility
The X9e Pro features a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a 2788 × 1280 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. HONOR lists 100% DCI-P3 coverage and support for 1.07 billion colours, while Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protects the display surface.
The unusual number is its advertised 10,000-nit peak brightness. That figure needs some context. Four Separate Water and Dust Protection Ratings
Durability is another major part of the X9e Pro’s design. HONOR’s official Malaysian specification lists IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K protection. These are separate protection ratings defined under different standards and test conditions, covering different forms and levels of resistance to dust, water jets and immersion. They should not be read as four cumulative levels that stack into one combined rating. Current launch coverage often highlights IP68, IP69 and IP69K, while the official Malaysian specification also includes IP66.
HONOR says the phone was tested under controlled laboratory conditions and achieved IP69K under ISO 20653:2023, alongside IP66, IP68 and IP69 under IEC 60529. HONOR also advertises 10-metre water-submersion resistance. This is an HONOR laboratory claim under specified test conditions.
The product information states that water-resistance testing was conducted under controlled laboratory conditions. HONOR also warns that the phone is not professionally waterproof and that water, splash, and dust resistance are not permanent characteristics. Protection may decline through normal wear and tear.
The separate test details should not be interpreted as contradicting the advertised 10-metre claim. They describe particular laboratory procedures and conditions used to support HONOR’s stated resistance claims. In practical use, the 10-metre figure should not be treated as permission for unrestricted underwater use.
The X9e Pro Is Rated for Drops Up to 3 Metres
HONOR is also pushing the X9e Pro’s mechanical durability, including a claimed 3-metre drop resistance. The phone has received an SGS 5-Star Drop Resistance in Harsh Conditions certification, while HONOR says its own testing showed resistance to a drop from 3 metres onto a smooth granite floor.
The company also describes a bumper architecture intended to reduce screen-damage risk and says the phone can withstand more than 1,000 drops under its laboratory testing.

Is the HONOR X9e Pro Coming Outside Malaysia?
