Material
for batter
- Green moong dal – 1 cup
- Rice – 2 spoons
- Peanuts – 2 to 3 teaspoons
- Spinach/coriander leaves – 1 cup
- Green chilli – 2
- Ginger – 1 small piece
- Asafoetida – a pinch
- Salt – as per taste
for stuffing
- Paneer – 1 cup
- Finely chopped onion – 1/2 cup
- Finely chopped capsicum – 1/4 cup
- Roasted cumin powder – 1/2 tsp
- Chaat masala – 1/2 tsp
- Finely chopped coriander – 2 teaspoons
- Oil or ghee – for frying
method of making
Soaking and grinding: First of all, wash moong dal, rice and peanuts and soak them in water for 4 to 5 hours. After this, drain the water and put them in the mixer. Mix spinach, green chillies, ginger, asafoetida, salt and a little water and prepare a thick and smooth batter. The batter will have a beautiful green color due to the spinach.
Preparing the Stuffing: Mix cheese, onion, capsicum, roasted cumin powder, chaat masala and a little salt in a bowl. Your delicious paneer stuffing is ready.
Cheela Bake: Now heat a non-stick pan on medium flame and grease it by applying some oil on it. Pour a tablespoon of batter in the center of the pan and spread it thinly like a dosa by rotating it in a circular motion.
Cook and Fill the Stuffing: Apply some ghee or oil on the edges of the cheela. When the lower surface becomes light golden and crispy, spread the prepared cheese stuffing in the middle of the cheela. Fold the cheela from both the sides and then serve it.
