Petrol Diesel Price 28 September: Despite the rise in crude oil prices, there was no change in retail fuel prices for Indian consumers today i.e. Monday (September 28, 2026), as government oil marketing companies (OMCs) kept the prices stable after their daily review at 6:00 am.

Crude oil prices rose more than 1 percent on Monday after US President Donald Trump rejected an Iran peace deal aimed at resolving their dispute and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

Petrol and diesel prices remained stable in Mumbai

The retail price of petrol in Mumbai was Rs 111.21 per liter, which remained the same as compared to the previous day. In the last few days, there has been very little fluctuation in fuel prices in the country’s financial capital Mumbai, which have been fluctuating slightly between Rs 111.18 and Rs 111.21.

Increase in crude oil prices

Crude oil prices rose after Donald Trump rejected Iran’s new proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, rekindling tensions in the Middle East.

Brent crude rose 1.3 percent to about $105.70 a barrel, according to Bloomberg, as Iran stuck to its seven-day resolution to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. US West Texas Intermediate crude was at $93.11 a barrel, up 70 cents, or 0.76 percent. Rising oil prices heightened inflation concerns, pushing 10-year Treasury yields up 4 basis points to 5.20 percent.
