The government has decided to take several big steps to control pollution during winter in Delhi. Under this, there is a plan to increase parking fees, change the timings of government offices and implement 50 percent work from home in government and autonomous institutions. The purpose of these measures is to reduce the use of private vehicles when pollution increases in winter and to promote other means including public transportation.
Apart from this, activities related to construction and demolition will also be banned in a phased manner. Some measures will come into effect from November 1, while a complete ban on construction and demolition will come into effect from December 10. All these decisions are part of the measures being taken to control Delhi's pollution during the winter months.

1. Parking charges will be increased in Delhi during winter. Its purpose is to encourage people to reduce the use of personal vehicles.
2. Parking lots owned and operated by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) have been kept out of this decision of increased parking charges.
3. The government wants people to use public transport and other means of transportation more instead of private vehicles.
4. There will be changes in the timings of government offices in Delhi from 1 November to 28 February.
5. Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) offices will function from 8:30 am to 5 pm.
6. The offices under GNCTD i.e. Delhi Government will function from 10 am to 6:30 pm.
7. In government and autonomous institutions, the system of 50 percent employees working from home will be implemented.
8. Under the work from home system, 50 percent of the employees will work from home, while the remaining 50 percent of the employees will work in the office.
9. To control pollution, construction and demolition activities will be banned in a phased manner. The complete ban will come into effect from December 10.
10. Some measures like parking charges, changed timings of government offices and 50 percent work from home will be implemented from November 1. A complete ban on construction and demolition will be effective from December 10.
