An investigation into illegal sand mining takes a dangerous turn in Reporting Live, an upcoming thriller starring actress Parineeti Chopra. The film followed two journalists as they investigated a story that led them towards a powerful sand-mining network.
Reporting Live was scheduled to premiere on Netflix on October 9, 2026. The film was directed and co-written by Dhruv Tripathi, who had worked on the script with Mihir Jadhav.
The story followed Sandhya, a young journalist, and Vinod, an experienced cameraman. The pair had started looking into illegal sand extraction after coming across a lead. Their investigation had gradually taken them deeper into a network that did not want its activities exposed.
As the two continued their work, they had faced increasing risks while trying to uncover more details about the operation. The film had placed journalism and investigative reporting at the centre of its story.
The cast also included Deven Bhojani, Amol Palekar, Adil Hussain and Shekhar Suman alongside Parineeti Chopra.
Netflix had announced the release on social media with the message, “Is the risk bigger than the story? Sandhya & Vinod will find out. Watch Reporting Live, out 9 October, only on Netflix.”
Tripathi had also spoken about the film, revealing that he had worked on it for seven years. He said, “I’ve lived with this film for seven years, from writing it with Mihir to bringing it to the screen.”
He added that he had wanted to create a thriller that felt grounded while keeping ordinary people at the centre of the story.
Producer Partha Kiran Thakur had also discussed the project and said the film had been made with a clear vision. He had highlighted the combination of actors from different generations in the cast.
With its story centred on an investigation into illegal sand mining, Reporting Live had been set to reach audiences through Netflix on October 9, 2026.
