Sports News : Asian wrestling champion wrestler Labhanshu Sharma will tie the knot in November 2026. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former President Pranab Mukherjee have honored him. The wedding ceremony to be held in New Delhi will be attended by her family members, close friends and well-wishers. Labhanshu Sharma, a 24-year-old native of Delhi. Engaged to Tripti Sharma.
Dr. Tripti has completed her MBBS from Lady Hardinge Medical College in Delhi’s prestigious Connaught Place and is currently serving as an intern. The marriage was arranged with the consent and mutual participation of both the families.
What did Labhanshu say about marriage?
Excited about his marriage, former wrestler Labhanshu Sharma said, “The wedding preparations are going well, and both the families are extremely happy with this new relationship. Tripti has made a name for herself in the medical field through her hard work, while I have served as an Asian wrestler champion and now as a coach. It is a beautiful union of two people from two different fields.” He further added that he wanted to make the ceremony memorable with traditional rituals and intimate moments surrounded by loved ones.
Labhanshu’s journey is full of achievements
Labhanshu Sharma, a resident of Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, has made the country proud in the world of sports. He won the prestigious ‘Bharat Kesari Kusti Dangal 2021’ title held in Tamil Nadu. Also in 2017, he won a gold medal in the 120 kg weight category at the India-Nepal Wrestling Championship and a silver medal at the KD Jadhav International Wrestling Tournament in Delhi. For his contribution to sports, he has been honored by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former President Pranab Mukherjee and the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, including the National Bravery Award.
Labhanshu remained a strong advocate of peace
Apart from the field of sports, Labhanshu has been a strong advocate of peace. He also led a historic campaign to spread the message of peace around the world covering 28 countries by traveling by road from India to London. The campaign was given the green signal by the then Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Trivendra Singh Rawat.
Labhansha is training the youth
After an active wrestling career, Labhanshu entered the coaching field. He obtained his Diploma in Sports Coaching from the prestigious Netaji Subhash Chandra National Institute of Sports (NSNIS) in 2022. He is also a United World Wrestling (UWW) Level-1 certified coach. In 2023 he established the Labhanshu Sharma Wrestling Arena in Krishna Nagar, Rishikesh, where he currently trains young wrestlers for national and international competition. His dream is that Talented youngsters from Uttarakhand won gold medals for the country at the Olympics.
