The Central Election Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party has approved the names of its candidates for the Legislative Council elections 2026 for the Graduate and Teacher constituencies to be held in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The party has issued a press release regarding this.
Naval Kishore Yadav has been made the candidate from Patna teachers constituency. Dr. N. from Kosi graduate constituency. Of. Yadav has been given the ticket. Sarvesh Kumar will contest from Darbhanga graduate constituency. Narendra Prasad Singh has been declared candidate from Tirhut teachers constituency.
At the same time, names of candidates have been finalized for 6 seats in Uttar Pradesh. Kedarnath Singh has been made the candidate from Varanasi graduate seat. Dinesh Goyal has got the ticket from Meerut graduate seat. Ashok Kumar Rathore will contest from Allahabad-Jhansi graduate seat.
Dr. Pramod Mishra has been declared candidate from Varanasi teacher seat. The party has made engineer Hari Kishore Tiwari its candidate from Agra teacher seat. Dhruv Tripathi has been given another chance from Gorakhpur-Faizabad teacher seat.
The Central Election Committee of BJP has given its approval on all these names. These elections are to be held for graduate and teacher constituencies, which form an important part of the Legislative Council. In these areas, graduate pass voters and teacher voters elect their representatives.
Let us tell you that according to the program released by the Election Commission, the last date for nomination is till October 6. Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on 7th October while nominations can be withdrawn till 9th October. Voting will take place on October 23 from 8 am to 4 pm. Counting of votes will take place on October 27 and the entire election process will be completed by October 31.
