Tezzbuzz Desk- The theatrical version of 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' was approximately 3 hours 49 minutes long. There were many action and violence scenes in the film. Films with 'A' certificate cannot be telecast live on television. For this reason, the makers sent the film again to CBFC to make it suitable for TV audience.
CBFC cleared the film with a 'U/A 16+' certificate on 24 September. For this many changes had to be made in the film. According to the report, the makers were asked to make around 45 to 50 cuts. Most of these changes were made in scenes related to violence, bloodshed and action. It is being said that the makers have edited these scenes in such a way that the story of the film and its impact are not affected much. However, some violent scenes have been toned down in the TV version. After the approval of the Censor Board, the new runtime of the film has also become less than before. The length of the 'U/A 16+' version prepared for television is 219 minutes and 6 seconds. That means this version will be of 3 hours 39 minutes and 6 seconds. Compared to the theatrical version, the film is about 10 minutes shorter.
'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' will have its TV premiere on October 18 at 7 pm on Star Gold. In such a situation, fans of the film will now be able to watch it on television also. Changes have been made in the TV version, especially in the violent scenes, so that it can be broadcast under the 'U/A 16+' certificate. Ranveer Singh's 'Dhurandhar' was released in theaters on 5 December 2025. After this, the second part of the film 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' was released in theaters on 19 March 2026. Both the films made great money at the box office and according to the report, both the films together did a business of more than Rs 3000 crore. The digital premiere of 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' was on Jio Hotstar on June 4, 2026 at 7 pm. After this, the full version of the film was streamed from June 5. Now preparations for the television premiere of the film have been completed. Even though many violent scenes have been shortened or removed in the TV version of the film, the makers have tried to keep the story and suspense intact. Now it remains to be seen what kind of response 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' gets on television after connecting with the audience in theaters and OTT.
