New Delhi, 30 September 2026: Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the minimum farm price under the Price Support Scheme (PSS) for Kharif Marketing Season 2026-27 in Uttar Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka will be Rs. Purchase worth Rs 5,547.99 crore has been approved. The objective of this decision is to protect the farmers from falling market prices and ensure affordable returns for their produce, especially to the farmers growing pulses and oilseeds.
Shivraj Chauhan had said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the welfare of farmers, increasing their income and strengthening self-reliance in the agricultural sector have been the main priorities of the government. He said that the government is working to ensure that farmers get affordable prices for their produce and make the procurement system more transparent and accessible. Under the approved procurement scheme, farmers of these three states will get the benefit of bulk purchase of major pulses and oilseeds at MSP.

In Uttar Pradesh, the largest share of sanctioned purchases, valued at Rs. 3,992.57 crores, it has been approved. In this MSP is Rs. 4,66,000 metric tonnes of turpentine worth Rs 3,937.70 crore and Rs. This includes the purchase of 6,250 metric tonnes of magnesium worth Rs 54.87 crore.

In Telangana Rs. Purchase worth Rs 448.42 crore has been approved. In this, Rs. will be purchased at MSP under the price support scheme. 62,000 metric tons of soybean worth Rs. 353.90 crore and Rs. This includes 10,766 metric tonnes of mug worth Rs 94.52 crore.
Shivraj Chouhan had said that this decision will provide greater economic security to farmers while encouraging local production of pulses and oilseeds and contributing to India's efforts towards self-reliance in pulses and edible oils. He assured that the procurement system at all the designated centers will be transparent and farmers will get the payment for their produce directly in their bank accounts on time.
