The second match of the ODI series between India and West Indies will be played today. The clash between both the teams will be held at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. India easily won the first match of the series at the Greenfield Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram by 8 wickets. Now the team would like to capture the series by winning this match.
Will Mohammed Siraj return?
Mohammad Siraj seems to be returning to the playing eleven of the Indian team. In the first match of the series, Indian bowlers were struggling a lot in the initial powerplay. Prasidh Krishna and Gurnoor Brar both are hit-the-deck bowlers. The team missed the bowler who could provide seam and swing. In the first 10 overs, West Indies batsmen had scored 85 runs and India did not even get a wicket.
In such a situation, fast bowler Mohammad Siraj may return in the second ODI. However, who will go out when he arrives is a big question. Gurnoor Brar has not been able to make an impact in international cricket yet. He has 11 wickets in 7 matches but he has given runs at an economy of around 7. If Brar is kept in the playing eleven, then either Naman Dheer or Nitish Kumar Reddy may have to go out.
No chance of change in batting
Apart from this, no other changes are expected in the playing eleven of the Indian team. It seems certain that Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel will be benched. At the same time, Aaqib Nabi does not see any hope of getting a chance. In the first ODI, India had easily achieved the target thanks to centuries from Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill. In this match, the team would like the middle order to also get a chance so that they can be tested.
India’s probable playing XI: Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill (captain), Virat Kohli, Ruturaj Gaikwad, KL Rahul (wicketkeeper), Naman Dheer, Ravindra Jadeja, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, Prasidh Krishna.
