Filmmaker Karan Johar announced the ninth season of the famous talk show ‘Koffee with Karan’ and said that this is the last season of the show. He announced in an emotional promo video that this would be the last season. Karan told that this show started in 2004 and now after 22 years this journey is ending. How did the show start?
Karan Johar posted the promo of season 9 of Koffee with Karan on his Instagram account. In this he appears emotional and tells the entire journey of this show. He says how he had pitched the idea of a talk show to his father Yash in 2004, and he passed away soon after. The first episode of the show was launched in August the same year and since then there was no looking back. Karan tells in the video that because of the show, he is still struggling with the word ‘nepotism’, he had guest lovers, some of whom are now married, and some are separated. He also jokingly says that the show ‘almost ended the careers’ of some national icons. At the end of the video he invites the audience for one last cup of coffee.

What happened in the journey of 22 years?
Karan Johar said in the video, ‘There are some journeys that you don’t plan to end, you just know, somewhere inside you, that you have to let them go, Coffee with Karan has been a very special part of my life. It has given me friendship, memories, moments of madness, a lot of love and also a lot of controversy.
He further said, ‘But amidst all this, the thing that has always remained the same is the audience. They laughed with us, debated with us, trolled us, celebrated us and most importantly, kept coming back for another cup. Saying goodbye is emotional, but it also feels right. This last season is my way of raising my mug for the last time, with thanks, with love and with all those who have made Koffee with Karan what it is. So, come have one last cup of coffee with me, one last time.’
When will it premiere?
There is a lot of discussion these days about the guest list of Koffee with Karan season 9. There are reports that everyone from Ahaan Pandey-Anit Padda to Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna are going to come as guests. It will premiere on Jio Hotstar from October 14.
