Cricket New Rules : ..so five runs will be cut, ICC has changed these seven rules from October 1

  • Now using pink ball in day test also
  • The definition of overthrow also changed
  • Ball criteria for women's cricket

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has issued a series of cricket rules, which came into effect from Thursday, October 1. Meanwhile, these rules will not apply to any ongoing international series, but will apply to all series starting on or after October 1.

The most important rule in this (Cricket New Rules) is that if time is wasted during batting, the fielding team will get 5 runs as penalty. Also, in ODIs and T20 Internationals, the head coach will be able to enter the field during the drink break. This system was already in force in women's cricket. Along with that, the rule of ball size and weight has also been changed. Let us take a look at these 7 new rules of ISAC.

1 – Penalty for spoiling the time

Now the batsman will be warned in advance if time is wasted or wasted while batting. A repeat of this will result in a second warning, but a third will result in 5 runs being deducted from their score and added to the opposing team's score.

2- Use of pink ball in day test also

Given the difficulty of poor lighting in Test cricket, both teams can use the pink ball by mutual agreement. This means that the match will no longer be stopped due to low light or poor lighting. Also, if required, teams can use the pink ball in the day's Tests as well. Earlier, pink ball was used only in day-night test matches.

3- Last over of the day

Now in a Test match, after the wicket falls in the last over, the day's play will not automatically end. If the other balls in the over remain and there is a position to play, the over will be completed.

4- Definition of Overthrow

Overthrow is defined as a deliberate attempt to throw the ball towards the stumps. It does not include simple misfielding.

5- Full control

Now the fielders need to have full control of the ball while dropping the bells for run out or stumping. Just touching the bells will not be legalized.

6 – Ball criteria for women's cricket

Three different categories of men's, women's and junior cricket balls will be established under specific specifications of firm size and weight.

7 – Innings break in T20 Internationals

A fixed gap of 15 minutes has been implemented between matches. If for some reason the match time is reduced, it can be reduced to 10 minutes.
