Meanwhile, Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan spoke openly about their experience of working with filmmaker Akash Kaushik and the reason for being a part of the film. Akash Kaushik is debuting as a director with this comedy-adventure film. Both the actors praised the script of the film, Akash's confidence and his filmmaking approach.
The biggest reason is a strong script
Working with a first-time director is nothing new for Ayushmann Khurrana. He has worked with many debut filmmakers before and he believes that the biggest reason behind choosing any film is an interesting and strong script. He said, 'More than half of my hit films have been with first-time directors. That's why I'm a risk taker. When a first-time director comes up with something exciting, he brings with him the script and everything.
While talking about Akash Kaushik, Ayushmann also mentioned his writing background. Akash has written for films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. However, according to Ayushmann, the treatment of Udta Teer is quite different from his previous films.
He said, 'Akash Kaushik is a very experienced writer. He has worked on Bhool Bhulaiya 2, Bhool Bhulaiya 3 and many comedy based films. But this film is still quite different from those films, because it is a very new-age comedy. His treatment is very fresh and he is a graduate from FTII.
Ayushmann also understands the pulse of the audience
Ayushmann further said that Akash's specialty is that along with his understanding of filmmaking, he also understands the pulse of the audience. Ayushmann said, 'He is very intelligent and what is more important is that he also understands the masses. So it's a good combination and we are very excited because he has a very sharp mind and has written a great script. Hope you will like the film.
At the same time, Sara Ali Khan talked about Akash Kaushik's confidence and his grip on his script. According to Sara, during the shooting of the film, Akash's manner did not seem as if he was directing a film for the first time. Sara said, 'While working with Akash sir, it never felt as if he was making a film for the first time. I think he had such a strong hold on his script that he knew exactly what kind of character he had to play.
I liked the script because of Ayushmann.
Sara also told that the news of Ayushmann being a part of the film gave her more confidence about this project. Ayushmann saying yes to the film was a kind of assurance for him too that there was definitely something special in the script.
He said, 'When I came to know that Ayushmann is doing this film, my pressure reduced. I felt that if Ayushmann has chosen this film, then the script must be good. That's why I said yes.
