A case regarding a BMW car worth Rs 76 lakh has come to light in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. It is alleged that the groom and his family had asked for a BMW car from a businessman to take them to the wedding. The car was not returned after the marriage. The businessman asked several times to return the car but the accused allegedly hesitated. Now the police have arrested the groom Vansh Mittal and have also recovered the BMW X3 car from his possession.
The matter is of Sadar Bazar police station area of Saharanpur. Mission Compound resident businessman Sanjeev Kapoor had purchased a BMW X3 in the name of his firm on February 12, 2026, for about Rs 76 lakh. For this, he had taken a loan of Rs 65 lakh from the bank and gave the remaining amount to the BMW dealer from his firm's account. The car was registered on March 5 with the number UP16FM-7799.

Had asked for a car to take me to the wedding
According to Sanjeev Kapoor's complaint, Hari Prakash Mittal, his son Naveen Mittal and grandson Vansh Mittal had helped him buy the car. Later the marriage of Vansh Mittal was fixed in Sohna, Haryana. Before marriage, all three asked Sanjeev Kapoor for a BMW car. He had said that taking a new BMW to the wedding would enhance the prestige of the family and the car would be returned after the wedding. Out of trust, Sanjeev gave the car to him.
On March 11 and 12, Sanjeev Kapoor reached Sohna with his family for Vansh Mittal's wedding. During this time, they came to know that the Fastag of the car was also used by the Mittal family. After the marriage ended, he asked for his car back but was put off saying that it would be returned after a few days. Even after this the car was not recovered.

The car was not returned even after asking several times.
According to the complaint, Sanjeev Kapoor asked for the car back several times from Hari Prakash Mittal, Naveen Mittal and Vansh Mittal. It is alleged that every time the matter was postponed by making some excuse or the other. On May 10, Sanjeev asked for the car back from Hari Prakash Mittal and Naveen Mittal on Court Road, Saharanpur. It is alleged in the complaint that both of them abused them and refused to return the car. Sanjeev has also accused him of threatening.
When the car was not returned, Sanjeev Kapoor complained to the police. He says that even after complaining to the police station and SSP, no action was taken initially. After this he approached the court. Following the court order, a case was registered at Sadar Bazar police station. Police have invoked sections like breach of trust, criminal conspiracy, intimidation and intentional insult in the case.
After the case was registered, the police was busy searching for the accused and recovering the BMW. On October 1, 2026, based on information, the police took action at Prathala Khanjarpur intersection of Gautam Buddha Nagar and arrested Vansh Mittal. Police also recovered Sanjeev Kapoor's BMW X3 from his possession. The process of presenting the arrested accused in the court has been started. The matter is being investigated further.
