Supreme Court of India has invited applications for 250 temporary posts of Junior Court Assistant, for which graduate and computer literate candidates aged 18 to 30 years can apply.

New Delhi: An opportunity has come to get a government job in the biggest court of the country. Supreme Court of India has invited online applications from Indian citizens for 250 temporary posts of Junior Court Assistant. Selected candidates will get a starting basic salary of Rs 35,400 and other allowances under Level-6 of the pay matrix. For these posts, it is necessary to have graduation from a recognized university. Besides, knowledge of operating a computer is also mandatory. English typing speed on computer should be at least 35 words per minute.

Age limit and relaxation

The age of the candidate should be between 18 to 30 years as on 1st September 2026. SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer), disabled and ex-servicemen category candidates will get relaxation as per the rules of the Central Government. Dependents of freedom fighters will be given additional relaxation of maximum five years.

Selection will be done in four stages

There will be four stages in the selection process. First, an objective exam of 100 marks, which will be of 90 minutes and requires 50 marks to pass. There will be questions on English, General Knowledge, Constitutional provisions related to Judiciary, Supreme Court Rules 2013 and Computer knowledge. Second, a 10-minute typing test of 50 marks, in which it is necessary to score 25 marks. Third, a two-hour descriptive examination of 100 marks consisting of comprehension, press writing and essay writing and 50 marks are required. Finally there will be an interview of 25 marks, in which at least 13 marks are required.

Application fee and date

The fee for general and unreserved category is Rs 1,500. SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), Ex-Servicemen and Disabled candidates will have to pay Rs 750. Apart from this, bank charges will also be charged. Payment will be online only through UCO Bank payment gateway and fees will not be refunded. Online applications will start from 7th October 2026 and can be made till 11:55 pm on 20th October 2026. Applications will be accepted only through the Supreme Court website www.sci.gov.in, applications sent by post will not be valid.
