Former Indian cricketer Sadagopan Ramesh has given a big statement regarding BCCI Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar amid the spectacular comeback of Rohit Sharma. Ramesh believes that after seeing Rohit’s recent performance, Agarkar may regret his stance. During the England tour, there were reports that Agarkar did not want Rohit to continue with the team and the England series was being considered as his last chance. However, BCCI had rejected these reports. Rohit Sharma has answered all these things with his bat on the field. He played a brilliant inning of 138 runs in the last ODI against England.
After this, Rohit scored a century in the second ODI against West Indies also. With consecutive big innings, Rohit has also given a strong message regarding his fitness and form. In such a situation, the discussion regarding his place in the team has again intensified before the 2027 ODI World Cup. Sadagopan Ramesh’s big statement on Ajit Agarkar: While talking on his YouTube channel, Sadagopan Ramesh mentioned the alleged stance of Ajit Agarkar.
He said, “According to reports, Ajit Agarkar was completely adamant that Rohit should not be a part of the World Cup team next year, that is why his contract was also not extended. But Rohit is continuously proving that age is just a number. He fielded 50 overs and then batted for a long time and scored a century. Now Agarkar must be regretting his stance regarding Rohit’s place in the team.” Ramesh also spoke on the pairing of Rohit-Virat.
Ramesh also mentioned the competition seen on the field between Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. He said that both the experienced batsmen seem to be taking inspiration from each other’s performance; “Now a pattern has formed between Rohit and Virat. If one scores a century, the other also scores a century after that. There is good competition between the two and both are batting like wounded tigers. It is not surprising for Rohit to score a century against such a bowling attack on such a flat wicket. It is clear that he is batting with anger and passion.”
