Lucknow. Before the UP assembly elections, the Congress high command made major changes in UP. Aradhana Mishra, party MLA from Rampur Khas seat, was appointed the new president of UP. With this, Ajay Rai has been relieved from this post. On Friday (October 2), the Congress President appointed new office bearers of Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee with immediate effect. Imran Masood was appointed acting president. Devinder Nishad and Alok Prasad were given the responsibility of senior vice presidents.

The party appreciated the contribution of Ajay Rai. Apart from this, the Congress President also approved the proposal to appoint Chaudhary Virendra Singh as the leader of the Congress Legislative Party in Uttar Pradesh with immediate effect.
