India posted a formidable 211/6 in 20 overs against Pakistan in the men’s cricket final at the Asian Games 2026, with Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma providing the key contributions.
Abhishek gave India the early impetus with a blistering 61 off 28 balls, before Tilak Varma produced a late-innings assault to bring up his half-century from just 21 deliveries.
Abhishek’s innings featured seven sixes and three fours and gave India the platform to build a big total.
After India lost two wickets in quick succession, Tilak and Shivam Dube took charge and rebuilt the innings.
The pair then shifted the momentum back towards India, finding the boundary regularly as the total moved past 150.
Tilak launched an attack against Sufyan Moqim, collecting 18 runs from the over through a boundary and two sixes. Dube then added two sixes and a four against Saim Ayub, with Tilak finishing the over with another boundary.
Dube was eventually dismissed while attempting a big shot, caught by Maaz Sadaqat off Ahmed Daniyal. But Tilak continued his assault and completed his 21-ball fifty, including two sixes.
Tilak finished with 51, while Abhishek’s 61 remained the top score of India’s innings.
For Pakistan, Ahmed Daniyal and Arafat Minhas took two wickets each as India finished on 211/6.
