24 new UK Aldi stores opening before Christmas – full list of location

Supermarket giant Aldi has revealed it will throw open the doors to 24 new supermarkets by the end of the year, including in North Yorkshire, South Wales and several in London, Manchester, Kent and Essex, while also ‘relocating’ three stores. The supermarket, which currently has 1,092 stores, will open or relocate nearly 30 stores over the next 10 weeks, ‘bringing affordable groceries to even more communities.’

The budget supermarket chain has been ranked the UK’s cheapest supermarket for the past five years and the only one whose prices are dropping year-on-year. It said sales were being driven by more customers buying more products in more stores, thanks to its ‘relentless focus on simple, everyday low prices’.

Aldi also reaffirmed its commitment to continue cutting prices across its range in the build-up to Christmas. So far this year, Aldi has invested £340m in reducing prices on over 1,000 products, including orange juice, butter, fresh meat and frozen fish.

Giles Hurley, chief executive officer for Aldi UK and Ireland, said: “We’re working hard to make good food more affordable for every family – cutting prices on everyday essentials, signing long-term supplier agreements to help increase home-grown production, and continuing to bring affordable groceries to even more communities through our store opening programme.

“This is why more customers are buying more products at Aldi – our relentless focus on simple, everyday low prices and award-winning quality.”
