New Delhi: Technology is no longer limited to just making calls, listening to music or watching videos. Now such devices are also emerging which try to understand the activities of the human brain. A company named Naurabell has introduced a special headphone named Naurable One. According to the company, this headphone can monitor the user's brain signals and helps in detecting when the person is focusing and when he is distracted.
Naurable One has been specially designed keeping in mind the students and people involved in research. In this, 12 EEG sensors have been installed inside the nylon earcups. These sensors work to record the electrical activity of the brain. If the user gets distracted while studying or doing any other work, the headphones can alert him. Its purpose is to help the user concentrate on his work again. However, it is important to note that this technique does not claim to directly read the thoughts going on in the mind.
Will be useful in meditation also
This device cannot be used only during study or work. According to the company, it can also be used for meditation. The headphones try to track signals related to the user's focus and relaxation. The mobile app that comes with it will track many metrics related to the brain. These include parameters like focus, workload, stress, sleepiness and brain age.
The headphones do monitor brain signals, but that doesn't mean it can detect when a person is lying. As per the available information, the main focus of Naurable One is on concentration and monitoring brain activity. Therefore it would not be right to call it a 'lie detector' right now.
Price and other features
The price of Naurable One has been kept at 499 US dollars and information has been given that its sale will start in America. It also has features like 40mm beryllium drivers, six microphones, ANC and transparency mode. It can also be used like normal headphones by turning off the EEG sensor.
According to the company, the battery can last for about 12 hours when EEG is active. The company has also said that user data will be kept secure and will not be sold to any third party.
