The sample of Nestle Low Fat Dairy Whitener was collected from The Lalit hotel in New Delhi and tested by a Food Analyst laboratory.
The laboratory report found that the product did not comply with the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, classifying it as both unsafe and substandard.
Following these findings, FSSAI issued a notice to Bharat Hotels Ltd, the operator of The Lalit, regarding the non-compliant Nestle product.
A copy of the laboratory analysis report was also shared with the hotel for necessary action.
hotel has been given an opportunity to challenge the findings and file an appeal within the prescribed period under the food safety law.

This move comes amid increased regulatory scrutiny on food quality and compliance standards by FSSAI, which continues enforcement against food safety violations.
Earlier this month, FSSAI suspended licences of TCF Chocolates and Gifts and Shivam Agro following inspections that revealed serious food safety and hygiene lapses.
The action against TCF Chocolates was triggered by a consumer complaint related to food ordered via an e-commerce platform, leading to the inspection.
