Smugglers had adopted a new method of liquor smuggling. Officials said that liquor is cheap in Jharkhand and there is complete prohibition in Bihar, hence smugglers bring liquor from Jharkhand and sell it at expensive prices in Bihar.

The route from Godda to Bhagalpur goes via Banka and Panjwara and this area is forested, hence smugglers use this route. A network of many people is involved in this type of smuggling. Many people are involved in purchasing liquor in Godda and delivering it to Bhagalpur.
