Price and Variants: Which fits the budget?

Honda has introduced the QC3 in a single, fully-loaded variant, priced at ₹ 1.35 lakh, ex-showroom. The company has started its sale in limited cities like Delhi, Agra, Surat, Cuttack and Kollam in the initial phase.

On the other hand, Ather has expanded its reach by introducing Ather Konarc in 6 variants (S and Z trims). The starting price of its S series starts from ₹99,999 (2.1kWh battery) and goes up to ₹1.45 lakh (3.5kWh battery). If your budget is around ₹ 1 lakh, then the base model of Ather Konarc can become an affordable option for you.

Battery, range and charging speed

Battery capacity and range are the most important aspects for daily travelers.

  • Honda QC3: It has a 3.0kWh battery pack, which gives an IDC certified range of 145 km. It takes about 2 hours 40 minutes to charge it from 0 to 80% with a standard charger, while it takes about 4 hours for a full charge.
  • Ather Konarc: In Ather Konarc S, customers get three battery options – 2.1kWh (100 km IDC range), 2.7kWh (125 km IDC range) and 3.5kWh (161 km IDC range). Talking about charging, its 3.5kWh model takes about 5 hours 40 minutes to charge from 0 to 80%, but the fast charger option reduces the time significantly.

Features and underseat storage

Honda has focused on practicality in the QC3. It has features like 32 liters of large underseat storage, 5-inch TFT screen, turn-by-turn navigation with Honda RoadSync and Smart Key.

Ather Konarc, on the other hand, is designed keeping tech-savvy users in mind. It has features like 14-inch front and 12-inch rear alloy wheels, sequential gear-drive, Advanced Electronic Braking System (AeBS), illuminated branding, adjustable backrest with lumbar support, SmartWake, MagicKey and AirWalk.

What do auto experts say?

“If you want Honda’s reliable network, simple riding experience and good boot space, then the QC3 is a solid choice. Whereas, if you want more variant options, new-age tech-features and the freedom to choose the battery as per your budget, then the Ather Konarc looks to have the upper hand.”
