Villagers told the reality of 'Har Ghar Nal' scheme, DM served notice to the company

The 'Tap Water to Every House' scheme under the Jal Jeevan Mission was reviewed in the Collectorate Auditorium on Monday under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Charcha Gaur. During the review, the District Magistrate talked to the concerned village heads and villagers directly through mobile phone and took feedback to know the ground reality of the drinking water supply being done in the Gram Panchayats under the scheme.

The District Magistrate took information regarding the status of drinking water supply being provided through Jal Jeevan Mission in the concerned Gram Panchayats including Lodhi, Babhnauli, Pasahi Kala, Tenduhar, Adalganj, Lohra, Sonbarsa. During this period, village heads and villagers of many gram panchayats complained about lack of regular supply of drinking water.

Taking the complaints of the villagers seriously, the District Magistrate directed to issue a notice to the company related to Patvadh Group Drinking Water Scheme. Also instructed to issue adverse entry to the Assistant Engineer of the concerned drinking water scheme. The District Magistrate clarified that no negligence will be tolerated in the Jal Jeevan Mission Scheme, which is directly related to public interest, and it should be ensured that regular and smooth drinking water is provided to the villagers.

The District Magistrate directed the District Panchayat Raj Officer to form a team and investigate the drinking water supply being done under 'Har Ghar Nal' scheme in the villages related to Patvadh Group Drinking Water Scheme. He directed that the investigation should be conducted within two days by ensuring formation of the team and a detailed report of the investigation should be made available within five days.

He directed the officials that during the investigation, it should also be ensured that what is the actual status of pipelines, connections, availability of water and regular supply in the concerned villages. The benefits of the scheme should reach the eligible villagers effectively and if negligence is found at any level, action should be taken by fixing responsibility.

The District Magistrate said that the objective of Jal Jeevan Mission is to provide clean and regular drinking water to every rural family. Therefore, by regularly monitoring the operation of the scheme and drinking water supply, quick resolution of the complaints of the villagers should be ensured.

On this occasion, Chief Development Officer Jagriti Awasthi, District Panchayat Raj Officer Namita Sharan, representatives of the company associated with Jal Jeevan Mission, Executive Engineer and other concerned officers were present.
