Notices were sent to around 33 lakh voters due to no-mapping and other discrepancies under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Delhi. Of these, verification of more than 10.28 lakh voters has been completed so far. As part of the verification process, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are going door-to-door and collecting necessary documents from voters. Along with this, the process of objections and claims related to the voter list is also being taken forward.
Special camp will be organized at all booths on 11th October
To speed up the SIR process, special camps will be organized at all polling stations in Delhi on October 11. In these camps, voters will be able to get the information related to their name and details verified and submit the necessary documents. Claims and objections related to the draft voter list can be submitted till October 31. The claims and objections received will be disposed of by November 30. After this, the process of finalizing the revised voter list will proceed.
Verification of more than 10 lakh voters completed
According to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Delhi, verification has so far been completed on the basis of documents received from 10,28,407 voters who have received notices under the SIR. According to the office, the process of verification is being carried forward rapidly.
Will be able to submit notices, claims and objections till 31st October
Earlier, three special camps have also been organized under the SIR process. A large number of people have submitted answers to the notices and necessary documents in these camps. According to the CEO office, voters can submit replies, claims and objections to the notice till October 31. All claims and objections received till the last date will be disposed of by 30th November.
BLO will go home and collect documents
Under the process of SIR in Delhi, the Election Commission has simplified the process of submission of documents for voters. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will visit the homes of voters who have received notices related to no-mapping or logical discrepancy and collect the relevant documents. After this the BLO will upload these documents on ECI-Net. After examining the documents, the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) will take a decision on the matter. With this, the voters receiving the notice will not need to go to a separate office to submit the documents.
Special camp for young voters on 7-8 October
Special camps will be organized on October 7 and 8 in colleges, universities and other educational institutions of Delhi to add the names of young voters to the voter list. Through these camps, eligible young voters will be able to apply to get their names registered in the voter list. Even before this last month, two special camps were organized to connect with young voters. According to election officials, the special campaign will continue in educational institutions to include new voters in the voter list.
1.90 lakh applications received for Form-6 in SIR
A large number of applications for addition, deletion of names and amendment in voter details have been received during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Delhi. Till October 4, 1,90,133 Form-6 applications have been received for adding names of new voters. Adding 2,12,400 applications received before August 31, the total Form-6 applications have become 4,02,533.
Maximum applications from western district
Between August 31 and October 4, the highest number of applications for adding names of new voters, 23,420, were received from the Western district. After this, 20,165 applications were received from North-West, 18,831 from South-East, 18,487 from East, 17,831 from North-East, 16,538 from South-West and 15,876 from South district. At the same time, 14,273 applications have been received from North district, 13,193 from Outer North, 11,800 from Central North, 8,470 from Central, 7,988 from Old Delhi and 3,261 from New Delhi.
More than 69 thousand applications for Form-8
During the same period, 5,020 Form-7 applications have been received for deletion of names from the voter list. At the same time, 69,817 applications of Form-8 have been received for amendment in name, address or other voter details. Apart from this, 356 applications have also been received under Form-6A. Including the applications received before August 31, so far 1,707 Form-6A, 56,491 Form-7 and 3,30,585 Form-8 applications have been received. Thus, during the SIR process, a large number of applications have been made for addition of names of new voters as well as for amendment and deletion of names in the existing voter list.
