Sourav Ganguly will have the responsibility of helping Delhi Capitals win their first IPL title. Along with Punjab Kings, Delhi is one of the two debutant franchises that have not won this competition yet. Delhi came closest to victory by reaching the final in 2020. The next year they topped the points table but could not reach the finals. They have not been able to reach the playoffs since the 2021 season and finished sixth last year under the Axar Patel-Hemang Badani duo.
Let us tell you that former captain Ganguly has been associated with the franchise since 2019, when he joined as a consultant. After completing his tenure as BCCI President, Ganguly was appointed the Director of Cricket for both the men's and women's teams of the franchise. Most recently, he served as head coach of the Pretoria Capitals and led them to the SA20 finals earlier this year.
