Mercedes GLC Electric: Booking starts in India, will be launched on November 4 with a tremendous range of 715 km and a huge 39 inch screen.

Automobile Desk: Luxury vehicle manufacturer Mercedes-Benz is rapidly expanding its electric portfolio in the Indian car market. In this series, the company is going to formally launch its much awaited luxury electric SUV GLC Electric in the Indian market on 4th November. The company has officially started accepting bookings for this powerful SUV.

The most important thing for Indian customers is that this vehicle will be assembled in India instead of importing it from outside. Mercedes is going to manufacture this new electric car at its Chakan plant in Pune. In India, it will be mainly offered in 400 4Matic variant.

Premium look and modern designing

In terms of design, the Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric looks quite futuristic while maintaining its traditional luxury style. The front of the car has a closed-off grille, in the center of which is the shining Mercedes trademark logo. Along with this, eyebrow-shaped three-pointed LED DRLs and modern LED headlights give its front profile a very aggressive and attractive look. Air vents and a sloping plate with silver finish are provided in the lower part of the grill.

Talking about the side profile, it has a sloping roofline, chrome finishing windows and dual-tone ORVMs. The vehicle has large 21-inch alloy wheels and flush-fitting handles in the door panels which improve its aerodynamics. Star pattern connected LED taillights have been provided in the rear profile.

Hyperscreen and cabin features

Stepping inside the cabin, the first thing that catches your eye is the massive 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen. According to Mercedes, this is the largest display screen ever provided in any car. It is a single glass panel that integrates the driver display, central infotainment and separate entertainment screens for the front passenger.

Keeping the ride comfort in mind, facilities like ventilation, heating and massage have been provided in the front seats. Apart from this, the cabin has 64-color ambient lighting, large skyroof and Burmester 4D surround system for premium sound experience.

Battery, power and charging speed

This electric SUV is quite powerful in terms of performance. It has a large battery pack of 94kWh capacity. The company claims that this car can cover a distance of up to 715 kilometers (WLTP certified) on a single charge. It has a dual electric motor setup with all-wheel drive (AWD), which generates maximum power of 490hp and torque of 800Nm.

Talking about speed, this SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds. It has the support of 330kW DC fast charging, due to which this car can be charged to drive about 300 kilometers in just 10 minutes of charging.
