The member of the selection committee plays a very important role in the selection of players for the senior, A and junior teams of the country. The eligibility conditions as per BCCI rules are as follows: Applicant must have international experience of at least 7 Test matches. Or experience of at least 30 first-class matches is mandatory. Alternatively, the candidate should have the experience of playing at least 10 ODI matches and 20 first-class matches. Additionally, the most important requirement is that at least 5 years have passed since the applicant retired from international or domestic cricket (i.e. a cool-off period of 5 years is mandatory). According to tradition, the one with the most Test match experience among the selection committee members is given the responsibility of chief selector. When can you apply and further process BCCI has fixed the last date for accepting applications for this important post till 14th October at 5 pm. The applications coming within this stipulated time limit will first be subjected to screening and shortlisting process.
