Cuttack: There was a tense situation in the SCB Medical College and Hospital campus in Cuttack, Odisha on Tuesday morning when a youth climbed on the water tank of the hospital. He remained on top of the tank for about 30 minutes. Police and fire department teams reached the spot and tried to bring him down safely. However, the young man jumped down before the rescue operation could be completed. The young man suffered serious injuries after falling from the water tank. According to the information, he was immediately taken to SCB’s Trauma Casualty, where doctors are treating him. His condition is said to be serious.

The youth who jumped from the water tank has been identified as Rajesh Parida of Jajpur Town. It is being told that he had climbed onto the water tank located near the psychiatric department of the hospital. After getting information about Rajesh climbing on the tank, concern also increased among the people present in the hospital premises. Police and fire department were informed. The team reached the spot and tried to convince Rajesh to come down.

The family brought the young man for treatment
His parents had brought Rajesh to SCB Medical College from Jajpur Town a day earlier. Earlier, he had climbed on the roof of a house in Jajpur Town and tried to jump from there. The family took him to SCB for treatment. At around 12:05 pm he was brought to the trauma casualty, where doctors examined him. After this the family was asked to consult a doctor in the psychiatric department.
