Health Desk. Hair fall is a common problem, but if hair starts falling faster than normal then it should not be ignored. In many cases, baldness starts gradually and the body starts giving some signs already. By identifying these changes in time, the cause of the hair problem can be determined and treatment can be started if necessary.
1. Continuous receding of hairline
Receding hairline from both sides of the forehead can be an early sign of baldness. In men this change often appears gradually. If within a few months the forehead starts appearing wider than before, then it is better to consult a specialist.
2. Rapid thinning of hair
Hair loss is not the only cause of concern. If the hair on the top or middle of the head is continuously becoming thinner and less dense, it may be a sign of weakness in the hair roots. This change can be easily seen especially while combing or grooming the hair.
3. More visible scalp skin
If the scalp becomes more visible than before, especially during hair removal or in bright light, it may be a sign of reduced hair density. This problem may also increase with time.
4. Excessive hair fall while bathing and combing
Losing some hair daily is considered normal. But sudden hair falling out in clumps or persistent excess hair appearing on pillows, clothes, and in the bathroom is a sign to pay attention to. Stress, lack of nutrition, hormonal changes or other reasons could also be behind this.
5. Formation of empty patches in some part of the head
If round or clear spaces start appearing on the head, do not ignore it considering it as normal hair fall. In some situations, there can be different medical reasons behind this type of hair fall and to know the exact reason, consultation of a dermatologist may be necessary.
Baldness is not the reason every time
Hair loss does not always mean baldness. Stress, illness, rapid weight loss, lack of nutrition, problems like thyroid and some medications can also cause excessive hair fall. Therefore, if there is continuous or rapid hair fall, it is better to get it checked by a skin and hair specialist instead of treating it yourself.
