kanpur thai woman : Tannery businessman Mohammad Irfan has been arrested by the police on the complaint of Apsorn, a resident of Thailand, in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The Thai woman has seriously accused Irfan of cheating her into marriage, grabbing two expensive sports bikes worth ₹55 lakh and forcing her to convert. On the other hand, the mother of the accused denied all the allegations and said that her son was innocent and a victim of blackmailing.
‘If you want to live together, you have to accept Islam’
Upsorn, a resident of Thailand, submitted a complaint to ADCP East Shiva Singh and said that she has a restaurant business in Thailand. Irfan used to come and go there on business and the two got to know each other through social media. After dating for about four years, they got married two years ago according to Thai tradition.
The woman alleges that when she talked about living with Irfan after marriage, Irfan told her that if she wanted to live with him in India, she would have to convert to Islam and wear a veil. Since the woman categorically refused to change her religion and started demanding the return of her money, Irfan broke off contact with her.
When she reached home, she came to know that Irfan is married
Irfan returned to India in February 2026. When the woman reached Irfan’s house in Kanpur’s Latoosh Road, she first came to know that Irfan has been married since 2012 and has three children. The woman alleged that after reaching home, Irfan first refused to recognize her and later argued and forced her to change religion and beat her up.
Bikes worth ₹55 lakh were given on two birthdays
Upsorn told the police that Irfan was very fond of expensive cars and sports bikes. On his two birthdays, he gave money to buy two different bikes – one for ₹21 lakh and the other for ₹34 lakh (a total of ₹55 lakh). Irfan has also posted videos of these expensive women on his Instagram account (‘M Ek Vloge’). The woman has claimed that she ran out of money while spending money on Irfan, so she mortgaged her restaurant to the bank and took a loan.
Mother said- ‘Son is being trapped’
After arresting Irrfan late on Tuesday night, the police produced him before the media, where he covered his face and cried. On the other hand, Irfan’s mother has denied all the allegations of the Thai woman. He said that the woman was luring and blackmailing his son for money. According to the mother, Irfan bought the bike from his own earnings. He said that the woman was a mother of a child and was blackmailing Irfan on that basis, due to which his son was under mental stress.
Police registered a case
According to DCP Central Atul Kumar Srivastava, further legal action has been taken by registering a case against Mohammed Irfan under various sections including forcible conversion, cheating and assault based on the complaint of the Thai woman.
