Nominations have been submitted for the elections to be held for 10 Rajya Sabha seats of Uttar Pradesh. Out of these 10 seats, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded its candidates for 8 and Samajwadi Party (SP) for two. Now on this pretext, UP CM Yogi Adityanath has once again raised his old slogan. Yogi Adityanath has said that once again the fight of 80-20 has started. He said that after the nomination for Rajya Sabha elections, it has become clear that 80 percent people of the state are with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and 20 percent people are with the PDA.
Addressing the Seva Jyoti Yatra 'Vikas Bharat Sankalp Sabha' organized at Patel Park in GPO, capital Lucknow, on the occasion of completion of 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public life, CM Yogi congratulated the Prime Minister for this achievement. On this occasion, he also did not forget to attack the main opposition SP in Uttar Pradesh. One reason for this attack was that despite announcing it earlier, SP did not field its third candidate in this election.

What did CM Yogi say now?
On this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi said, 'Yesterday, from the Rajya Sabha elections (nominations) in Uttar Pradesh, it became known what the result of the assembly elections is going to be. The 80-20 battle has started again. Eighty percent people are with NDA and 20 percent are with PDA. What will be the fate of PDA, it will be before you again.
His comments came a day after eight BJP candidates filed nominations for 10 Rajya Sabha seats from Uttar Pradesh. Samajwadi Party has fielded two candidates. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav had earlier hinted at fielding a third candidate but on Tuesday, the last date of nomination, he said that his party's focus is not on the three Rajya Sabha seats but on the 403 assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh. Earlier, former CM Akhilesh Yadav had said that his party will field a third candidate once the required numbers are gathered.

Let us tell you that the BJP candidates who filed nominations on Tuesday include Dharampal Singh, Prakash Pal, Shruti Gangwar, Vidya Sagar Sonkar, Priyanka Singh Rawat, Radhakant Ojha, Gopi Krishna Pandey and Ram Pratap Singh Chauhan. Senior leader Ram Gopal Yadav and Reliance Industries' Dhanraj Parimal Nathwani are candidates from SP's side. Now it is considered almost certain that all these 10 candidates will be elected unopposed.
There was a lot of uproar on 80:20 in 2022
In an interview before the 2022 assembly elections, Yogi Adityanath had said, 'Those who are trying to impose arithmetic figures in the state, I think they will be victims of some misunderstanding. This election will be 80 vs 20. 80 percent support will be on one side and 20 percent will be on the other side. I think 80 percent will move forward with positive energy.
He had further said, '20 per cent have always protested and will protest but BJP will come to power and BJP will again work to carry forward the campaign of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.' There was a lot of uproar over his statement. Then Akhilesh Yadav had alleged that BJP is doing politics of division and insult.
