Telecom sector giant Bharti Airtel has announced its new postpaid portfolio, giving a big surprise to its customers in the festive season. The company has given great relief to the pockets of users traveling abroad in all its new postpaid plans. 'Free International Roaming' Facility has been included. Under the new rules, postpaid customers will now get a free complimentary roaming pack for one international trip per SIM every year. This facility has become officially effective from today i.e. 8 October 2026. This step is being considered as a game-changer for the customers who often face the compulsion of paying huge roaming bills or buying expensive international packs separately when going abroad.
These new postpaid plans from Airtel come with a starting rental of ₹499 per month. The most important thing is that the company has implemented this free roaming facility not only for premium users but also in both entry-level individual plans and multi-SIM family plans. The biggest feature of the family plans is that each member (per SIM) will get the benefit of one free international trip in a year.

Under the free international roaming benefit, users get a special roaming pack with a validity of 5 days. Under this pack, the customer gets 5GB high-speed international data, 60 minutes of outgoing voice calling (for India and local calls), 25 outgoing SMS and completely free incoming SMS once he lands abroad. The biggest feature of this pack is that it does not require any paperwork or purchasing a new local SIM; This pack is automatically activated as soon as the flight lands abroad and the user can receive banking OTP and important calls from the same Indian number without any interruption.
Not only free roaming, but Airtel has also made arrangements for huge savings in these plans for entertainment and digital storage lovers. Depending on the plan level, customers are being given free access to more than 20 OTT platforms through Netflix (Netflix Basic/Standard), Amazon Prime Video (Amazon Prime), JioHotstar, and Airtel Extreme Play Premium. Additionally, Google One cloud storage for data backup and security and 'Apple iCloud+' and Apple Music subscription for Apple users are also bundled in these plans at no extra cost. Additionally, AI-powered spam and fraud prevention technology on the Airtel network also comes in-built with every connection.
Existing Airtel postpaid customers can instantly upgrade to these new plans by visiting their 'Airtel Thanks' app in the 'Bill & Plan' section. At the same time, users who are currently using Airtel's prepaid connection or are on the network of any other telecom operator (like Jio or Vi), can easily shift to these plans through Mobile Number Portability (MNP) or prepaid-to-postpaid migration. For this, a request can be made through Airtel Thanks app or by visiting the nearest Airtel store, under which the company activates the new SIM card at home with free home delivery.
