New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has launched three important initiatives under Digital India. Under this, registration of birth and death certificates in New Delhi area has been made completely paperless and online. Apart from this, a comprehensive online pet service platform has been launched for government veterinary hospitals. Now the process of registration of births and deaths in NDMC area will be completely online and paperless. This will reduce the need for people to visit offices for certificate related services and the process can be completed digitally.
Online pet service platform
NDMC has also launched a comprehensive online pet service platform for government veterinary hospitals. Through this, an initiative has been taken to provide various services related to pet animals through digital medium. Apart from this, senior NDMC officials and council members have decided to adopt 346 public toilets. Under this, special attention will be paid to monitoring the arrangements like cleanliness and maintenance of these toilets.

These three initiatives were launched at the Municipal Center in New Delhi. During this, NDMC President Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, Vice President Kuljit Singh Chahal, Council members DP Singh, Sarita Tomar and Anil Valmiki and other officials were present. NDMC Chairman Manoj Kumar Dwivedi said that these three initiatives will benefit the residents of New Delhi area. He said that through these, the digital services of NDMC will be expanded and various services can be provided online to the citizens.
Birth and death registration became paperless
The process of registration of birth and death certificates in NDMC area has been made completely online and paperless. This will reduce the need for citizens to go to offices for this service and the process can be completed through digital medium. NDMC has also launched a comprehensive online pet service platform for government veterinary hospitals. Through this, an initiative has been taken to provide services related to pet animals through digital medium.
From birth-death registration to pet services online
Under the new digital system of NDMC, the process of birth and death registration has been expanded as an integrated online service system. This system is based on the digital facility of adding the name of the child to the already available birth certificate. Its key feature will be end-to-end paperless system.
Under this, hospitals will be able to send information related to births and deaths to NDMC through electronic medium. With this, citizens will not need to submit the form physically and the registration process can be completed through digital medium. At the same time, the facility of pet registration and OPD appointment booking will be available through the online pet service platform. Apart from this, the facility to book vaccination appointment online and receive automatic reminder for the scheduled date of vaccination will also be available.
Digital vaccination certificates and online health certificates can also be issued for pets. The platform will also feature digital pet and veterinary records and user management. Additionally, a Learning Management System (LMS) has been developed to provide information related to pet health and responsible care. Through this, pet owners will be able to get information related to health care and responsible pet keeping.
The public will benefit
NDMC Vice Chairman Kuljeet Chahal said that completely online birth and death certificate registration service is being dedicated to the citizens. He said that this initiative will make the process paperless, faster, transparent and more convenient. This will reduce the need for citizens to visit the NDMC office again and again. People will especially get a lot of convenience in getting old records.
Meanwhile, council member Sarita Tomar appreciated the improvement in the hospital facilities and services available to the patients. He specifically mentioned the newly developed offline registration counter, calling it an excellent example of citizen-centric planning. He said that a spacious, organized and convenient arrangement has been created for the patients and visitors while making better use of the available space.
