PM Modi inaugurated India Mobile Congress, said- 5G has reached every corner of the country

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the 10th edition of India Mobile Congress 2026 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi. During his address, PM Modi thanked everyone and said that today is a special day for India, yesterday he completed 25 years of serving the country. The PM said that in the last 10-12 years, mobile phones have become not just a means of talking but also a tool of governance. This is the real strength of Digital India. Today, children from remote villages and poor families are also getting better education because of mobile phones. Even during the Corona period, work and studies could continue only because of mobile and technology. He also mentioned the 'Diksha' platform for online education.

Picture changed with cheap data

Modi said that the telecom sector has now expanded to remote areas and every section has benefited due to cheap data. The benefits of government schemes and subsidies are reaching the people directly. Today, about 50 crore people in the country are associated with the gaming sector and India's contribution in e-sports is increasing. The content creation industry alone has become worth thousands of crores of rupees.

Need for global framework on cyber fraud

PM described phone and network security as the biggest priority. He said that now people come to know from whom the call or message is and whether it is fake or not. But cyber fraud and cyber crime have no boundaries, hence it is necessary to prepare a global framework and strong mechanism to deal with it.

This time the theme of IMC is 'Scale Without Boundaries'. The journey from 5G to 6G, future technologies like AI, IoT, satellite communication, smart mobility and industrial robotics are being showcased at the event.
