MG Windsor EV Indulge Edition Teased Ahead Of Launch

In just a little over two years, the British motoring brand JSW MG Motor India has managed to sell over 80,000 Windsor EVs in India. Now, to commemorate the two-year anniversary of the Windsor EV in India, MG has teased that a new model will be coming soon. From the recent teaser shared by MG, it has been noted that the upcoming special edition will be called the MG Windsor EV Indulge.

The teaser video shared by MG starts with a voiceover showing the silhouette of the LED DRL of the MG Windsor EV, following which the voiceover says that in just a little over two years, MG has delivered the Windsor EV to over 80,000 families in India. After which, the voiceover mentions that to celebrate year two of the Windsor, a more exclusive edition is coming.

It then shows a glimpse of a new colour and a side silhouette of the Windsor EV. Soon after this, the teaser mentions that “India’s number one EV is now ready to INDULGE”. Finally, the video then shows the MG Windsor EV Indulge logo on the screen. Currently, the company has not revealed any more details of the vehicle. However, most likely, it could be making its debut before or around Diwali.

Most likely, MG will be giving the upcoming Windsor EV Indulge a new champagne gold colour, a few new accessories and a few other cosmetic highlights. Just like other special edition models, the Windsor EV Indulge is expected to remain the same as the current model.

Presently, the Windsor EV is offered with two battery packs, including 38 kWh and 52.9 kWh. These offer a driving range between 331 km and 449 km per charge, respectively. It also gets features including 135-degree reclining “Aero-Lounge” rear seats, a massive 15.6-inch GrandView touch infotainment display, an infinity glass roof and many others.

The MG Windsor EV is the biggest hit that MG Motor India has had in the country. It recorded 3,224 unit registrations in September 2026, which made it the fifth best-selling electric car in India during the month. In the last few years, the Windsor has seen some changes in its position on the sales chart in recent months.

Prior to that, it was amongst one of the strongest-selling EVs in the first half of the year. After adding the September sales numbers, the MG Windsor EV’s cumulative sales reached 78,722 units since its launch in late 2024. The model recorded 30,668 units between January and September 2026, with its highest monthly volumes coming in July at 4,659 units and March at 4,530 units.

However, sales have moderated in the last two months, with 3,705 units in August and 3,224 units in September. Despite this, the Windsor, as mentioned, is still the biggest volume contributor to JSW MG Motor India’s electric vehicle portfolio. MG sold 5,242 EVs in September, which gives it a 14.56 percent share of India’s electric passenger vehicle market.

The competition, however, has become tougher for the Windsor EV as new electric models are entering the market. The Tata Punch.ev topped the September sales chart with 4,666 units, followed by the Mahindra XEV 9S with 4,439 units. Meanwhile, the Tata Nexon.ev recorded 3,469 units.

JSW MG Motor India has also expanded its EV portfolio after launching and commencing the deliveries of the new Hector Tomahawk EV. Now, despite losing some ground in the model-wise sales rankings, the Windsor is still an important model for MG and has already crossed the 80,000-unit sales milestone in less than two years, as per the company.
