Congress MP Karmaveer Boudh described the controversy related to the Election Commission as a “fight to save the country and democracy”. He said that the creator of the Constitution, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar had worked hard in difficult circumstances to give the right to vote to every citizen of the country, but now there is a danger of this right being snatched away.
Karmaveer Buddh said that the struggle of Congress is to protect this right. He said that until Election Commission chief Gyanesh Kumar resigns, this movement will continue across the country. He reiterated that the opposition to Congress is not limited to any one person or institution but it is being done to protect the democratic system and the voting rights of the citizens. Congress leaders have demanded transparency and accountability regarding the functioning of the Election Commission.
At the same time, Congress MP Manoj Kumar, regarding party president Mallikarjun Kharge calling the MPs of the Indi alliance block for lunch at Connaught Place, said that this program was already fixed. He told that the opposition leaders had announced in a press conference at the Constitution Club that they will hold protests up to the block and booth level in different parts of the country from 2nd to 8th.
Manoj Kumar said that after lunch, the further strategy will be decided as per the instructions of senior party leaders. He also raised questions on the alleged behavior of the police with opposition leaders. He alleged that Rahul Gandhi was being dragged on the road and MPs were being put in buses by hanging. The whole country is watching this behavior of the police.
The Congress MP said that amidst the “spark of truth” arising from this entire incident, questions are being raised on the credibility of the officials associated with the Election Commission. He said that its effect will be visible in the coming times.
