After the death of Nana Patekar, Goa Police registered a case of 'unnatural death', started investigation.

New Delhi: The news of the demise of veteran Hindi cinema actor Nana Patekar has made not only Bollywood but the entire country emotional. This 75 year old artist said goodbye to the world after cardiac arrest on Thursday. Now the police action in this matter has also come to light, which is being discussed everywhere. The actor's demise was confirmed by Dr. Shekhar Salkar, head of the oncology department of Manipal Hospital. He told that Nana Patekar could not be saved. After this, everyone from the film industry to the common people started paying tribute to him.

Police registered a case of unnatural death

According to the report of news agency ANI, Panaji Police has registered a case of unnatural death under Section 194 of the Indian Civil Defense Code. According to police records, the actor was brought from his home 'Ocean Park' in Paula to the casualty ward of Manipal Hospital in Bambolim, where doctors declared him brought dead.

According to the documents, the medical officers of the hospital had informed the police at 8.07 am on October 8. He told that Vishwanath (grandfather) Gajanan Patekar, who is the son of Laxman Patekar, has been brought to the hospital. His permanent address in the records is Andheri West. Police Sub Inspector Nitin Naik is currently investigating the case.

The family's statement will also be recorded

The police will conduct further inquiries to find out the real cause of death and will also conduct a post-mortem at Goa Medical College. Along with this, statements of Nana Patekar's family members will also be recorded. At present the police is trying to understand the circumstances of the death. If the death is found to be natural, the case will be closed. But if any suspicion or discrepancy is found, further legal action can be taken.

Last rites were performed with state honors

After his death, Nana Patekar's mortal remains were brought from Goa to his farm house in Pune. He was cremated there with state honors at around 11:30 pm on 8 October. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also arrived to bid him farewell. Apart from this, many big Bollywood stars paid their tribute by posting on social media.
